that neck-deep 'water splash' gives me HTN ideas aplenty.
The Irwell is lovely and warm in February.

What is it with Northerners and masochism? 😕

Is it genetic? Do they need to hurt themselves? Or is it a cultural thing?

And at about 3'00", int here a feeler with riser bars on his bike?

And again at 4'30" ish?

Is that an early mountain bike then? Bit before that Repack bloke's time, in't it? 😉

I think it's cultural & genetic - the culture is there to reinforce the gene pool! 😀

top film btw.

[Stuart Hall]…and in the depth of winter the Pearly King sent forth his champions far away to the frozen forests, where on an escarpment above Mancunium they did meet the tribes of The North. At sun rise they did battle, and those that lived out the day did tell tales of great heroism, filth, mint balls and bent rear mechs. One of them even won a Buff®…[/Stuart Hall]

Having swapped five inches of hardtail trail bike for a cx bike for a 4 hour memorial ride on Saturday, I can only say, it takes a particular sort of person to ENJOY riding one of those (awful) things....

A southern delegation to Hit the North?

Well, I suppose OMITN can act as translator, but what about food & drink?

If we pour the ale now, it should be flat enough by February, but I don't know anyone licenced to sell quiche this far North.
