Well, there are a few low spec shocks with poor reviews but nothing like a Fox DPS, or RS Sid. Is it just a very popular size at the moment or maybe even the opposite? Makes me feel like I should buy one as  a spare if/when they come back in stock.

No lockout. Had one on my last bike. Its a great shock for trail riding but always wish it had a proper lockout and not just the climb switch.

I've that Cane Creek shock on my Cotic, it's a brilliant shock and feels utterly bottomless.  No issue with the climb switch either, takes some setting up with low/high rebound & compression plus pressure & spacers but absolutely worth the effort.

I've literally just taken a 190x45 Fox DPS off my bike to replace with one of those Cane Creek shocks.

Drop me a line if you're interested in secondhand 🙂

2023 Fox Float X comes in 190x45 and it's superb.

Marzocchi Air shock also available in that size, a cut price version of the float.

Plenty of the Euro sites have some of the new ‘23 RS Super Deluxe Ultimate shocks in that size.

I found one on Starbike (190x45) for my Element for about £300 a few months ago.

Slightly leftfield angle, a mate or these had one of these on a Focus Ebike and rated it very highly and quite a few of the XC pros seem to use them/

https://www.freewheel.co.uk/dt-swiss-r-535-rear-shock-in-control-vardtr535alever

Has a lock out and with 15% off your first order it'll be about £350

Any way you could use a 190x50 instead, that’s a much more common size? Obviously check bottom out point to see if there’s room, if it’s air just run it a bit harder? Extra travel is betterer isn’t it… just a thought.
