Ok bought a Genesis Day One second hand yesterday, fitted up to my size put on a carbon bottle cage just to ease my fettish.
The 42/18 is a bit tough off road but what fun. I now think this is my favourite bike. The ability to go anywhere and not much can go wrong with it. I'm converted.

nice bike but bloody heavy
had the alfine out the mrs dayone and even with no rear wheel the thing is HEAVY - with the alfine in its a lead weight !
