As above, I'm looking seriously at both of these and could do with lots of experience based opinions for and against. Going to hopefully try both at the weekend but only possibly the Santa Cruz as the don't seem to be many niner rip about to try.

I had a RIP and really liked it, although it was a bit too much bike for most of my riding. It doesn't build up particularly light. I had quite a posh build but it was still nudging 30lbs with a reverb (large). I'd probably go for the Tallboy, but I think I'd always want the carbon one.
