Right, it's time to clean and proof some of my gear properly. Mainly waterproof jackets and trousers. What's the best stuff to use and any favoured methods, e.g. Dripak soap flakes handwash only then proof with Nikwax?

Predissolve the soap flakes in some hot water first, otherwise they might still be hanging around when the wash is finished (the little buggers have a bad habit of clumping together, either in the laundry tray or in the drum)
