My old Helius CC:

It was a medium size but felt quite big, probably due to the high BB. Very nice finish, tough anodizing but not XC enough for me!

Nicolai Helius CC Rohloff - medium - I'm 5 11 tall. Build is on the burlier side of xc, but its built for durability as opposed to being light weight.

Excellent bike, no regrets at all.

What bike you getting? had a Helius FR. Great fun, but for UK it just a bit too much really. Weighed a ton as well.

Nickc no a cc, I have A titus supermoto which is a similiar bike to the fr, looking at a cc to be lighter all dayer. just wondering what travel forks people are running, I have some pacefighters 130 to 150 mm thinking that 130 to 140 mm will be okay? ๐Ÿ˜•

130 to 140 mm travel will be fine. I tried riding my Pace RC40 wound down to 120mm , but didn't feel quite right to me.

The CC (cross country) is a little misleading description (in my opinion), it more like an AM.

The AM is almost a FR frame, and the FR is very well built - as nickc said - probably too much bike for most.

CC or AM are good choices, choose either one - just depends on how aggressive a rider you are (and how much travel you want).

Here's my Helius FR. It's a large and fits my 6' 2" frame perfectly.

Not even remotely a trail bike but sweet nevertheless.

Sorry guys, not sure what I'm doing wrong with posting photo's. I've done it before but seem to be having a brain fart. Let's see if this works.

Hicksville - I have test ridden the CC with a DT Swiss shock. I wasn't that impressed with the performance of that shock, but the owner of the LBS I borrowed it from swears by it, so it's kind of a personal choice. Personally I'd put either a RS Monarch or a Fox RP thingymajig.

This was my old UFO. With the way my riding has gone, I do wonder if I should have just kept it, slimmed it down a little & put some proper forks on it.

If only it wasn't a single pivot!

It was a good looking bike, and rode pretty well, but it seemed to suffer horrendously from brake jack on big tracks. Over the last 18 months my riding has progressed into a far more DH orientated state and I would have liked to have tried it on some other tracks to see how it compared, but no such luck. My Sunday rides a lot differently to it, not in a bad way, i'm used to the low BB already but it feels a lot more like a bigger bike.

MrCrushrider - its a brace to help stop the frame twisting under compression.

Here's mine - Helius CC. Best bike I have had. Alas, at the moment, front triangle away for some repairs. When she is back I've got some Fox F120 15QR's to slap on. Great bike. Weighs in ~25lb.

auric - great colour scheme - i nearly did that myself with the AM.
hicksville - the compromise is the weight (about 31.5 lbs) but i ride around it, tbh ๐Ÿ‘ฟ
i will admit, the Ti hardtails are suffering in use now the AM is dialled in...

I'm test riding a Helius AM tomorrow afternoon as part of Head for the Hills' big demo day.

Not sure if I should do this really as it's only likely to result in the genie being let out of the bottle and I've just found out the wife is expecting so bike purchases aren't likely to go down well.
