going up to GT with the sweary northerners in a cuople of weeks time.
it looks like i will be still using the electric monster, or if i am lucky my tourer, so i need a nice steady road/lane route, with a nice cafe stop.
all ideas welcomed.... ๐
How far do you want to go Tony? You can take a mostly off-road route to get to Cardrona from Peebles, then to Innerlieten and Traquair. There are lots of fire-roads at Glentress which would take you up a bit higher. There's a good cafe in Innerliethen.
When are you coming up? If I can make it down, I'd happily meet up with you.
coming up on friday 30th. and not too far ride wise.
we are staying in innerleithan, i thought about going into glentress and riding just on the fireroads, both the bikes will be ok on there.
would be nice to meet up for a ride mate.
I'd like to meet at legend too... Ton, you staying at Innerhaven?
Another option could be to go out past Peebles and down past Stobo Castle to Broughton. Nice cafe there too. No major hills involved in either direction. It's road, but apart from a wee bit of A72, it's very quiet!
Which day suits best? I can probably do Friday and/or Saturday. Sunday morning is already booked!
we are staying at tweed valley bunkhouse, and weavers apts.
both spots are in the village i think.
Druidh, saturday sounds best. the lads will be doing something daft in GT, so it would be ideal.
i will bring both bikes up and see how i feel on the day.
and i like the sound of the castle route.
Inners to Broughton is about 20 miles. Sound OK?
Oh - the same again on the way back ๐
breeze on the leccy bike mate....... ๐
sounds fine.
Rickmeister, sound ok to you?
druidh,
I'd be tempted to stop off at Stobo for a spa treatment on the way!!
