I grew up nearby and i would reccomend a road bike if you have one- decent bridleways few and far between in pembs but the road riding is great

However if you want to take an MTB explore the preselis and their ridgeway, get a local OS map. Carn ingli is the mountain right above newport and yopu could just explore there.

Hmmm . . . probably not worth taking an off-road bike

Why not just enjoy walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, and exploring Carn Ingli?
