The all-new Vitus Escarpe platform represents a new breed of bike for a new breed of rider โ€“ long-travel muscle for when the dial turns to Gnarl

I'm sold.

really dont like the look of that bendy down tube. It's like the Giant, just looks wrong to me.

Is that how posh people pronounce escape? Either way it's a rubbish name.

Brant, what are the bearings on the new Escarpe? Also, when will there be demo opportunities, I may hold off buying a Granite Chief for one of these...

Has anyone tried one of these? Can't find any reviews or opinions, but they look like a decent budget-ish option for a slack trail bike, seeing as the Ragleys show no sign of turning up any time soon.

I have last seasons Vitus Optimum, had it for 6 months and been happy so far. Very light, find it comfortable, raced on it, although they're my first MTB races so nothing to compare it to.

I seem to have had a problem with the rear wheel, just doesn't roll very well - LBS said WTB rims are really difficult to get the tyre bead seated properly - not sure if they're right though. Still the wheels are the only thing that I might change at some point.
