[Closed] New tyre time - Road tubeless

So, it is time for new tyres on my road bike, as there is now a good flat spot, and both tyres have got cracks in tread down the middle all the way around the tyre. I am running 23mm tyres due to frame clearance issues.
I am currently training for the Marmotte so am spending a good amount of time on the bike.

I am currently running Hutchinson Fusion 3's but there are now options:
Bontrager R2 and R3 or the Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Tubeless.
I'm not sure about the R3 as it is £10 more and 5 grams less than the R2, with no other noticeable difference.

So, any suggestions or experiences?

Sorry, no, just registering the thread for reference. My next road tyres will be tubeless though - sick of flinty punctures

Got a set of tubeless Ultremo ZXs on the way right now...I'll get back to you 🙂

Past experience with non-tubeless Ultremos is they're a lovely fast rolling summer tire but not fantastically durable. (I usually run 25mm GP 4 Seasons as well on my spare wheels for training.)

Well that is a big consideration. The roads around here are not in good condition, so I don't want something that is going to wear our too quick.

I don't race, so I'm not overly concerned with outright speed, and the Ultremo ZX is supposed to be a race tyre.

I've been wanting to switch to tubeless road tyres for a while now, haven't quite worn out my current set of GP4000s yet though. Really intrigued by the Ultremo's. I need tough race tyres and think they might just be the ticket!

Been using Hutchinson Intensive for a few years now. Last ages with no noticeable wear, good in wet and dry, not much else to say. Roll fast, never had a slip or slide with them. Outlasted 3 sets of gatorskins on my other bike, which has been ridden less.
Only bad thing i can say about them is that they are a tad tight to get on the rims (ultegra tubeless wheels) 1st time.

Steve - did you put any sort of jizz in there, or running "dry" ?

After some reading this morning, I think I am going with the Bontragers.
My Fusion 3s have done just sort of 4,000km without any problems, but I think I will try some other options.

I'm also not happy that the tread has cracked on them.
