[Closed] New set of disk brakes needed- any bargains out there?

In the market for some new brakes, nothing boutique. Any bargains out there?

ideally want 180mm front 160mm rear 6 bolt set up.

I'd be looking at Rose Bike deals on Shimano-reputed for power and reliability. Nice short levers and lever feel is awesome. Bargain.

Got some cheap Hayes from Merlin complete with rotors. I got an upgrade to bigger front disc
They are cheap because they are Euro sided and you need to swap the hoses and then bleed

Which ones bud cos most of them are flip/flop now work either way round.....?? :wink:..

ive got some nearly new XT 770s if you wanted to go down that route. will include rotors too. sold the bike i bought them for so surplus to requirements now. £120. mail me if interested as ill forget about this thread otherwise.

Merlin are doing Elixir 1's with 180/160 rotors for £84 at the moment when you add the 6% discount.

If anyone has done a direct SLX -v- XT test (666 v 785), I'd like to know the results as I can't decide between the two.

On one still have the Elixir 1s at £39.99 each. Comes with rotor and mount.

Some don't like Avids but Ive found them to be excellent.
