I have SP Crossroads Armadillo Elite tyres, 26x1.95. Picked for my intended use (and good reviews)
I have rear rim: Mach1 559 x 17c and front rim Mavic XM317 559 x 17.
Incidentally both QR and disc.
Are these compatible with the tyres? Any opinion on the rims?

Yes, 1.95 26" tyres will be fine on those rims.
Mavic 317's are averagely ok in an old school way. Don't try a tubeless conversion on them unless you really need something to occupy your time... 🙂

The Mavic rim was bought about 4 years ago (planned to fit studded tyres to extra set for bad winter use but there's not really been a hard winter since!) from Evans on a simple walk in, ask & buy, rather than a reseached purchase.
I have just noticed how cheap it is & while £ is not everything, quality & spec does cost!
