Found an interesting article about the Ashdown Forest and looking for alternative places for recreation to relieve pressure on the Forest: http://www.jab-ride.co.uk/ashdown-forest-a-closed-book/

Could this mean getting a new trial centre? If bikers show their interest in this we may be onto something...

My brother has a house in the Forest just outside Fairwarp.

I don't think I could bear to have all that riding on my doorstep and not be able to make use of it.

I hope so, I drive through ashdown forest every weekend and drool about the riding potential there, plenty of elevation and natural singletrack, and unfortunatley thorns too. I did try and ride over there once but was chucked off by the ranger before we even got the bikes out the land rover.

I would seriously think about moving to Hartfield if they did, you could commute to east grinstead from there and get in to London no problem.

Yes am currently living in Maresfield so seriously hoping something develops here. Maybe a petition of local riders is on the cards...
