The better half wanted a smaller bike so I have spent the evening stripping everything off her rockhopper and building this:

Very lairy colour and she is well chuffed with it.

I think they look really good with that low top tube. Better than the big ones.

Nice.

Very nice. I am also considering buying a 456 and swapping my bits over.
Can you tell me what height she is? I have a 15" rockopper and I thinking about buying a 14". I am 5'7".

Also, I trying to price the build. I think I'm gonna need a new seat post, new BB, new top pull front mech and new gear cables. Can you tell me what you had to buy extra?

She is 5'4". A 14" would be a lovely chuckable size for someone of 5'7" IMO.

The BB swapped straight over from the rockhopper, but we had to change the seatpost & clamp (look for the ragley clamp at £9.99 on CRC), front mech and cables. Luckily the cables and clamp were the only things we needed to buy as we had the rest lying around.

had a look on the CRC website and there's 2 different sizes for the seatclamp: 29.8 or 34.9. I take it I want the 29.8mm?

Nice, I almost got one but backed out at the last minute because I found a Trailstar for sale! The long TTs worry me though, even the 14" seems too long for my tastes.

Can't tell if I love or hate that pink!
