In the top 10mm travel the fork suddenly now makes a Klunk/knocking noise before going into it's travel, also when going over anything chattery rocks etc or bumps it's making it feel like the headset is loose/knocking and knackered! When it's past the 10mm travel mark it seems to perform fine but that initial 10mm even when bouncing the fork up and down stationary is really knocky/rattly obviously as the forks always use the first 10mm through every compression makes it gvery noticeable on rock gardens and they feel absolutely shocking because of this like a pair of halfords special forks!!
Is there an easy fix or is it a warranty job? It's only just happened that lovely plush feeling has disappeared overnight. ๐
Worth letting all the air out and starting again? Any other ideas?
Had exactly the same thing happen to mine about a month ago, Leisure Lakes returned them for me under warranty and it turned out to be a damaged seal inside them. Sorted under warranty and have been fine since .
Hope this helps
cheers shepdon
the funny thing is ive only a week back altered the psi in the forks, just put a bit more in and since then its happened
id love it to be something i can have fixed myself though if its a warranty job then i guess i may as well send them in
any one else had this? i had a set of pikes on 26er before and they were fine until i sold it, these are only 2 months old ๐

Warranty fix = 1st service free ๐
well yeah, there is that i guess ๐
still a pain mind, though sram have suggested they need to see them, so it doesnt look like an easy fix
Seems like a very common problem. Lots of previous threads on here describing the same thing.
hmmm ive not seen any other reports, i suspect there should be a bit of movement there TBH, but when its actually affecting the way the fork performs to me something else has gone wrong at the same time, they just feel awful descending, i honestly thought my bars/headset was completely undone on a few descents yesterday - it created such a knock/loose feeling on the front end, i was convinced it was the headset

oh yeah, there you go then it is a known fault, sram didnt suggest theyd heard of it, but guess that depends who responds to you
reading them though, it doesnt suggest performance has dropped though, where as mine now feel like a bag of nails
