How long is recommended for the first charge?

'till the light changes colour on the charger I think.
The battery should not have a memory effect and I think they come half charged.

some chargers go green early (mine does), i just give it 6-8 hours. The first charge the same.

Mine used to go green, but now just turns the light off.
