Just seen this. I had a Mojo SL a few years ago which was a great bike. This looks very nice.

I'm sorry, but eight grand for the starting model...12 if you want a decent spec.

$12799 is just over £9k, $8k is £5.7k (half of which is the frame) Which is comparable to what every other premium manufacturer is charging, whilst making frames in the Far East (if that is a concern). Looks decent, but my XC race days are long finished.

Is the new exie not actually laid up at Ibis in the states?

Yeah, that’s what I mean. It’s comparable to everything else price wise, but made in the US.

Kind of looks like a love child of the old and new Ripley in a short travel package. I like! It is pricey, but when you consider it's on a par with what Hope are doing here in the UK, it's comparable price wise, even if the bikes are totally different in their intentions.

However, as much as I like Ibis as a brand, unless I seriously wanted the lightest, raciest bike possible that could still act as a trail bike, I'd struggle to justify the extra over a Spur.

I like it. Though I'll have to wait for the Exie AF 😀

I think Richard Cunningham's reviews are great too. Good to see him still contributing to PB with the odd article.

US price so probably excludes sales tax. Need to add 20%.

Yeah, that's not how US>UK prices translate. Normally you keep the number the same and just replace $ with £ 🙁

That seems to be the approach I've noticed, I was assuming parity or near enough.

That looks lush! Cover 80% of my riding. Shame I can't afford it! Here's hoping Giant bring out a revised Anthem ASAP.

Downcountry is modern trail geometry on a short travel and possibly light bike. 67deg head angle doesn't cut it. Its probably a pleasant xc bike thou

In fairness I think it’s designed as a xc bike, not a ‘downcountry’ bike.

I contacted 2Pure to check on pricing/availability and they didn't seem to be sure what an 'Ibis Exie' was...

Not gonna lie, my dealings with 2Pure have been disappointing. Never seem interested in helping and speaking to local Ibis dealer, they never have anything in stock, even before Covid. I asked about the possibility of trying a Ripley before Covid hit and they weren't interested. Left a real sour taste as I was dead set on one, but obviously wanted to try before hand.

Conversely, I've had great service from Windwave after a small paint defect on my Spur, was sorted in no time and they were super helpful.

Its a shame 2Pure aren't more proactive. We are talking car money for some of these bikes, you would think they would be falling over themselves for a potential sale. I would never buy a bike that costs so much without a trial ride first. Orbea are brilliant ( I dont know who the importer is) I went thru lbs and had one for a whole weekend.
The Spur was top of my list til I saw this.
