Hello I have just been looking at some of the new stuff coming from SeaOtter. Just saw the new Ellsworth Truth, very different from previous models.

What do yous think?

Not sure on the bike but Ellsworth should go down in history as employing the very worst graphic designers ever know to man - the gothic script they used for years was diabolically cr@p looking and bad enough but they have moved to something even worse.  Looks like the logo on a mid 90's £69.95 supermarket bike in a box?!?  😉

Nice, they found the ugly tree again, it's in the middle of the ugly forest...

I think it's been styled for Americans.

Still managing to knock out some of the ugliest bikes I've ever seen - fair play, they're consistent.

It's got good standover ..... Nope that's all I've got, other than that it's gopping.

That looks like someone dropped something very heavy on the top tube and folded the bike...

They must do it on purpose. It really is ugly but there's something I like about it.

is it to preserve the modesty of  the elegant lady cyclists when dismounting wearing skirts?

It's not so much squatting dog like the old Nomad, more dog dragging its veg down the grass....

Front triangle looks fine.

Did they farm out the rear end design to a Primary school class or something? Either that or they lost their only ruler?

I mean, what the actual??

It's horrible but at least it's the same horrible at both ends, that's progress

Quick! An Ellesworth! Is that a keyboard bandwagon I see? Everyone get on it!

Bugger that - that front triangle looks lovely IMHO - the rear - well, the ugly is pretty strong there. But I'm not going to rag on it just because of the name.

The Gunmetal one looks great IMHO. If this was a Bird/Cotic/another UK brand, this thread would be very different.

Do they sell through dealers?

I can't imagine seeing that as the new model and thinking - "I can really get behind selling that and recommending it to people!" - even if I was an American.

The geometry looks *really* old school too - parallel seat and head tubes?

Maybe they just have a very loyal, very conservative customer base but it must be an aging one.

Always had a soft spot for Ellsworth, used to ride a Dare for DH and it was an absolute beast of a bike. Fair play to them for trying something new, Tony Ellsworth might not be everyones cup of tea but he's definitely innovative, and it'll be interesting to see how it rides.

press release photo with no dropper, and saddle at pedalling height is lower than the bars; I'd have to agree with you.

Can't see anything innovative there, just a whole world of ugly. I'm sure it will ride fine...why shouldn't it, its a pretty conventional configuration. Just ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The frame looks like its off a ladies shopper bike with a step through frame...just needs a wicker basket hanging off the handlebars.

It does look slightly better in grey, imo. (although that looks like a larger frame size)

Whats new about it? It’s the same old suspension design, just squashed down a bit

Did it hit a tree on the way to the photo shoot?

Other than the chain/seatstay pivots, it looks a bit like a steeper angled version of the Evil full suss frames to me.

Well I think it looks good especially in red.  An I should know because I know nothing about anything.
