Part way through building and I'm getting a sense of doom!

Building up lightish as a trail bike, hopefully

It looks like a giant BMX

Head angle looks steeper than I was hoping for (I know the forks are shortish for it)

Coil 130mm recons
King headset
Fulcrun red metal wheels
Middleburn rs8 cranks with 22/36
Easton Havoc stem and ea70 bars

I've always thought that Sovs look really short and steep in pics. Thats why I've never got one... its an itch I might have to scratch one day though.

Nice. Short, steep and high BB are all terribly unfashionable which seems to put a few people off, but those people are fools. Still the best rad hardtail out there. Enjoy it. Personally I'd opt for some tyres that actually grip, though

In fact, let's have a low quality pic; [IMG] [/IMG]

I'd have sensed the impending doom the minute I saw that green colour.

Bruneep is that the new yellow? looks brighter than mine.

I'm putting the bits off my old spicy should be lots of fun - how do you find yours?

Silver components on yellow bike fail. Yellow frame is exciting though. What size is that one? looks a bit of a gate.

Cheers Ash...

That's not helping ๐Ÿ™‚

Very, very tempted...

Please tell me it rides nicer than a Transition Trans Am...

Test rode one at Dalby and hated it..

these look lush, off topic slightly but are they in any way comparable to a kenisis pha5e - seriously? I know it's ali but apart from that? Anyone?

No one has questioned why it is part built next to a farmers gate ?

coz that gate is about 50 metres from my shed (where I had freewheeled to whilst trying to manual)

nope no bottle mounts at all

I love the 2.4 ardent (not like the 2.25 which was useless)

very hard to get the double specific front mech low enough (cage hits the chainstay) so I went in for my tea

hope it's as fun as the reviews suggest

teetosugar I can't wait to ride it just family commitments and a really busy time in work not allowing me to build it. Quality wise it's perfect - such attention to detail. I found the Spicy too boring don't get me wrong it's a great bike just too much bike for the UK. Plus I do have a bottlerocket to go and play on that always puts a smile on my face when i ride it.

This is what I gave up to get this frame - still have the parts

Here's mine. Less than a month old but loving it so far. A great trail bike but capable of much more too. It has a great feeling of indistructability, fills me with confidence. COmfy too.

I need to bin the Nobby Nics and go back to Minions though, I dont think its ever dry enough around here for Nics.

The cranks look a bit spindly, but I like it. Some Pikes would go well on that.

Spindly? They look like a good old set of Middleburns to me.

Probably takes less time to assemble than Peter Crouch.

The 853 Evil Sov in long with Pikes is the best HT I've ever ridden and I really want another. It just felt right, yet the HT was a bit steep and the BB was a little high (on paper) but it was perfect.
