Hi new member here. Been riding a long time and just bought my first gravel bike and thought you might be interested.
Never bought a bike on a whim but was on a ride round York with my mate and we popped into Cycle Heaven and saw this, I had a quick ride and it fitted me so well I quickly texted my wife asking if it would be ok to buy it - if she was trying to call my bluff it didn’t work as she said it was ok so I went for it!
Put the wheels on my tourer onto it as the standard wheels are a bit basic and changed the saddle but otherwise it’s as standard.
Hope you like it! Colour is ace.
I like that, thank you and welcome to the forum.
I fancy a gravel bike myself and the Four Corners is one I've looked at - enjoy!
Welcome to the forum, that colour is amazing. I hope you have many adventures in it.
Nice ride...
Welcome to the forum and Marin club. 😎
Thanks. Never owned a Marin in 30+ years of mostly MTB riding.
Lovely looking bike and the colour matches the door as well.
Welcome, before any reflections on the bike it is customary to comment on everything in the image other than the bike. On that basis I reflect there is no moss on the wall, no broken up Tarmac, so well done. The bike is right tidy as well by the way
great colour and enough mounts to retire your tourer for, get it tubelessed up and fling it down some mtb trails for maximum fun

To be fair the pointing is really bad, I’ll admit that.
A big surprise was the tyres. I thought they would feel a bit “rumbly” on the road but they ride like slicks. Seem to be good off-road too.
Everything appears to be in order here. Good work.

Skinwalls. 32.6% better. #ScienceFact

I reckon at least 53.4%
I started MTB in the late eighties, skin walls and anodised aluminium are all over my bikes.
😎
Really nice 👌
That looks really nice! Marin are producing some amazing looking bikes at the moment.
Welcome to the Marin Four Corners club! Love mine and since I got it for a bargain earlier in the year it’s my most used bike. So much so I sold my carbon road bike and the forks I was saving for a HT build.

What sort of mods have you done to yours?
Valves lining up with tyre-branding. Good work. Nice bike BTW. I call them ‘ATB’ or ‘monstercrossy’ 🙂
Well done for getting a marin.truely great brand.
Welcome to the forum matey!
Long time Marin fan here and that looks bloody great. Enjoy!

Lets not get too carried away..... im sure they feel fine on the road, but they definitely do not ride like slicks.
Anyway, nice bike but what is that thing at the top of the seat tube? Looks like it might be some sort of rack mount maybe?
Well I couldn’t tell they were knobbly off road tyres coming straight from my tourer which had Vitoria Voyager Hyper slicks on. I genuinely was quite puzzled as to how smooth they felt.
Yes it’s a rack mount.
One advantage to the high front end is that it’s comfy with my knackered neck and the frame triangle is very big for the frame size so I’m going to try and make a frame bag for it.
The continuous or near continuous tread in the centre does make for a very smooth ride, can't argue with that.
Love that colour. Your pics look way better than the promo shots with the stem upside down and the bars sagged to get the hoods in the right place!
Always had a soft spot for Marin. They do interesting and well thought out stuff, like the Muirwoods. They get lost in the noise around e.g. Surly, which I've never understood.
Currently fancy a Pine Mountain if only for the grifter -esque bars
👍
Bought the GF a Marin Nicasio II few months back. Blue /purple with sparkly bits and painted carbon fork.
Nice steely lines.
Feels a little heavy compared to my (same sized) fancy ti bike.
She's very happy with it. Bikes are good.
By the way, is there any bike in the world that shifts better than a brand new Shimano equipped bike? I think not. My 11sp XT on my MTB is rubbish compared to this. There’s something about building your own bike that never really hits the spot like a complete new bike.

My 105 equipped Diverge is very impressive, I ride on the hoods and just change gear with my little finger - the action is so light and crisp - really impressive.
My SRAM Force Axs Etap Orca needs more force to click the button to change gear than the 105 does to change down!

I'm surprised no one has commented on that damp stain on the tarmac ... Whochoo do, piss against the front wheel before taking the shot?
(Very nice bike - enjoy!)
Marin 4-Corners here- great bike! Great for bike packing.
What mods have you done...
Not much really. I replaced the heavy tyres the previous owner had put on with some amber walled Gravel King 42mm, tried and failed to go tubeless (need to try again). It's XL so a huge bike and I wanted to try wider 500mm bars so have just pinched a inline post and 60mm (I think) stem off my wife's bike to see what works. I really liked the set up on today's ride so will look to replace the pinched bits with something a bit lighter. Other than that I don't have many plans. It's a heavy unit so before chucking a load of cash at it to improve the weight I'd probably just replace the bike long term although I have no plans to do so atm.
