...but not for me.

We were looking for a cheap ish road bike for Jnr to use for triathlons and general fitness. Due to how bloody cheap it was vs the excellent reviews, we settling on a Triban RC120. I've got to say, for the £365 we paid its bloody good, although I immediately saved 1,2KG by swapping out the OEM wheels & tyres for my spare Mavics/Conti's.

We had an enjoyable 30k together this afternoon:

Super cool 😎 Well done both of you.

I still love my Triban 5 even if only
on turbo duties these days.

Tribans have always been well sorted good riding bikes. The key as the OP knows is swapping out the OEM wheels for something without their own gravitational fields.

I can't see the new bike for the pig-iron frame in front of it... 😜

Here's a review of said Triban: https://www.bikeradar.com/reviews/bikes/road-bikes/triban-rc120-review/

I have to say I had a little ride of it, and I was quite surprised how good it felt. I will though be changing the brake pads shortly, they weren't great.
