[Closed] Need a bit of cro-mo frame tube

I'm after a small bit (like 8" or thereabouts) of chainstay-size cro-mo tube. I've got an old steel frame and I want to weld a brace into the NDS rear triangle so I can add a disc mount.

Accepting the fact that some people will consider this signing my own death warrant, where might I acquire such a thing? Anyone built their own frame and have a bit left over by any chance?

I'm in Newcastle, but such a short bit should be cheap to post (of course I'd be happy pay). I'm just about to go and measure the diameter.

OK. Probably also got 19 and 22. I've got a little horseshoe jig thing if you need to hold a tab in position (I. S. Not post mount). Welding or brazing? Drop me an email to the ironworks address in profile.

The stays are tapered, 14 or 12.7mm would both work.

That jig sounds handy.

Welding. Probably MIG because that's what I've got though I realise it's not ideal.

Will drop you an email tomorrow, thanks a lot.
