Never ridden Nant Y Arian - got Fast Track front and Roll EX rear (Specialized) but could put Storms back on - What do I do ?
(Also have some Panaracers)
Also doing Clim X trail on way home..
if it's dry, semi slicks
I thought they'd banned none tubeless tyres at Nant y.....
I would go tubeless but I have 2 mates who have and both have had issues - (Tyres popping off) - also - how long does it take to change to favourable tyres to suit conditions ? lower pressure is a bonus in the winter but not much good in dry summer - tyres for tubeless are slightly heavier ? where are the benefits ???????
where are the benefits ???????
You'd be able to ride at Nant y without breaking the none tubeless tyre ban...
I would just pick a tyre your comfortable on, and make sure you have the correct pressure to suit. Its not a hugely rocky course so anything fast with a good compound will do. I have been using Conti mountain kings for a while now.. 2.1 for local stuff and soft trails and 2.4's for the rockier trails, Black runs etc. It really depends on your riding style also. I know the Maxxis Ignightor is a very good all round fast tyre. I think the boys at Machynlleth (Holy Trail) use them locally.
