We've had, XC, SS, DH, jeycore, AM, All Mountain, Monster Cross, Fat, and all that.

So, open your minds to some imagination. What's the name of the next niche? No need to expand it with what the actual niche will be. Unless you want to, of course!

Next niche already exists - Bike Friday Petite Folding Bikes - only for people who are shorter than 5'4" and weigh less than 57kg

http://www.bikefriday.com/bicycles/petite

Actually, they'd fail as the next niche wouldn't they? Most folks would be too large to jump on the bandwagon 🙂

That thing exists then Sue?! I nominate Falling Off Bikes as the new niche. We all own bikes, we all watch videos of people falling off bikes. Yes, yes we do fall off bikes. The new niche is falling off not riding. And I reckon I'm better than you!

Kev - 57kg is quite heavy, it's over 8 stone! How much cake do you have to eat to weigh that much 🙂

I vote for time-trialing unicycling (not that I'd ever manage to do it ...)

I predict the most niche thing will be

just riding your bike and enjoying yourself, rather than worrying about others:

looking different to you,
riding a bike you don't "get"
using helmets
and so on

it's a bloody rare thing, especially on narrowminded trackworld so it'll always be niche

just ride and smile. xx 😀

Garnished with an evening of geno washington and the ram jam band in swanage.

Hardfronts!

Everybody's got rigids, full sussers or hardtails. I'm going to take a full suss frame, bang a pair of rigid forks on it and start a new niche.

Riding the cheapest and shonkiest bike is the "next niche" as it shows everyone (who is looking... and cares) that your clearly the better rider 🙄
