I've been using my HT to go to work, since someone stole the wheels off my commuter (thank you - if you're reading this).

I don't use it much, but I noticed the headset is a little rough when steering. Then, yesterday it pretty much seized up. I slackened off the stem and steerer cap and then tightened everything up again (steerer cap first, don't worry). It was fine for a bit, now it's starting to tighten up again. And, it still feels rough as.

New headset and get on with my life? Or am I missing something?

Thanks as always!

Getting jammed up sounds like one of the caged bearings, (I'm assuming the original, cheap headset that doesn't have proper cartridge bearings) has broken up and bits are getting lodged between the balls and races. Probably the bottom one rusted to **** due to poor seals.

But yeah, borked.
