Given that I'm living in Umea in the north of Sweden for the next 2 months I needed some wheels to get about on. Found a local cycle recycler and picked up this ex-Swedish army bike.

Steel, singlespeed, built 1947, coaster and drum brakes, weighs close to a ton and is beautifully stable on the snow and ice around town. Doesn't seem to stop very well but the tyres would just skid anyway....

One of my German friends in Stokholm had one as his drinking bike. He'd abandon it anywhere knowing that no one would nick it and if they did it had still cost less than the nights drinks. Happy days!
