Bright, but do you find yourself pedaling much harder in order to overcome the wind resistance?

Excellent ๐Ÿ™‚ Good to see you pushing the boundaries... This way you can wear your sunglasses at night !

Dare I ask what the burn time is?

with an on paper 5500 lupins...

[img] [/img]

edit: and awesome beamshot. Does brightness go like audio power in that you have to double the power to get a noticeable difference each time? (well not quite double but you know what I mean)

Yes Brightness does act similar
the five lad was just an experiment the blue light on the bike is only 3 leds as removed 2 as the five was too hard to find a driver for using a 15 volt battery it would need an 18 volt job

here is the beam shot from the 3 led and 3100 on paper lupins .

[IMG] [/IMG]

and hopefully a comparison of the 2 me I like the 3 led over the 5 led

Great to have you back and being just as mad as before.

A couple of thoughts:

I would love to see a simple mount that allowed the user to fit the lamp either over or under the stem (could use a lumicycle, but something more.....troutie if you get me.

Also, I've been toying with fitting a couple of satellite xmls near the fork crown that illuminate close up to the wheel - sounds daft but when riding bolder-strewn paths one needs to see the contact point and or what the front wheel is doing/going...would you agree??

Is that Altar Lane in Bingley? Is so, please don't turn that light to the right....you'll wake up my kids across the valley in Riddlesden!

Plums
no its not altar lane. but I could probably still wake the kids as on the hill at silsden
so could nearly hit Ridds from here.

@Paulmgreen
Its a fairly easy build and will post the bits when I get some more but better leds in .
and do the Mark 2 as have ideas on making it better.

Love tubs

Cheers been pretty busy in the day job so not had much time for tinkering .
put a light under the stem and get dazzled from flash back off the cables.
put em nearmthe wheel and get huge misleading shadows .
better off with a difused light from higher up say under the front of your bar
ight .

That'd be great on our night rides - but I wouldn't turn it on until were going downhill, and I'd go last - that'd wake 'em up ๐Ÿ˜†

Nice output! I guess your dog quickly figured out to never look back at his master when out for night time walks!?

I like the punch/penetration the xml's give you. Could you drop two xml's into my liberator mk2 for a similar effect?

mike

+1, speed is your friend, pich your line before you hit the rocks and let the bike do the rest, my helemet light lives so far back on my lid the peak obscures it, the only disconcerting bit is that i can't see my hands on the bars in my peripheral vision, so it's like a raceing computer game where you drive a car but there's no steering wheel shown!

That's totally ridiculous and over the top, way excessive for any kind of sensible use.

... which only makes me want one even more.

well theres talk of a new runway at Heathrow and protests from local residents but now they have nothing to fear as all the planes will land on your runway where ever you're riding! Awesome.
;o)
