We will be in touch
So, having struggled to inflate my first attempt at 'ghetto tubeless' last week, and in the end having to resort to using a CO2 capsule (well actually two, one for the test seating, one 'live'), and then discovering that CO2 and Stan's aren't the best of buddies...
Quick Google gave me the 'Ghetto Tubeless Inflator', and here's my version:
Here's a detailed shot of the valve and hose connection:
And finally the DIY one-way filling valve:
All the parts (except the washer that's needed to let the ball valve handle clear the lid) were bought off eBay:
Mini Ball Valve £2.44 inc P&P
Hose Tail £1.45 inc P&P
Foot Pump Replacement Hose £4.70 inc P&P
4 x Schrader Valves £4.98 inc P&P
Slow curing two-part epoxy adhesive was used to assemble.
Hope that helps someone.
That is the nicest one I have seen so far.
Good use of duct tape to catch any shrapnel too 🙂

Why thank you.
Good use of duct tape to catch any shrapnel too
Every other one I saw was like it, so I thought it might be prudent.
Incidentally, for anyone with kids, make two of these and you've got a cheap SCUBA set!
your spent over £10! the bodgers on here will be disgusted at the extravagance

although their lungs tend to pop if you put more than about 5psi in the bottles before they use them 😉
disgusted at the extravagance
Indeed, I spent 15p on a bottle of cheap fizzy water to get my bottle and that was it! Admittedly it's a bit more ghetto, and operation requires a pair of molegrips, but that adds to the charm...
Someone on Bikeradar posted one based around a garden sprayer, seemed a good way of doing it to me rather than taping up a bottle
Extra marks for positioning this thread above the colonic irrigation thread.
(which I have now ruined)
😳
I'm still not sold on the idea of tubeless.
While I admire your gadget Trucker (it is an excellent fix for a problem tyre and rim makers should have sorted long ago) I will continue using tubes for the foreseeable future.
disgusted at the extravagance

told you so
9p
It doesn't sound terribly 'STW' to claim your new bike accesory cost 9p.
I can imagine all the comments;
"I can sneeze 9p" etc etc.
prob cant get a bottle of pop for 9p these days anyway. *cough* inflation *cough* 😀

And yours was one of the ones that gave me the inspiration.
I'm just a bit anal (OK, a lot anal according to the missus), so it had to be just right.
The hardest part was getting the pop bottle, we don't drink it, not even the lad.
I will continue using tubes for the foreseeable future.
Yep, I thought like that 'till the lad came home from school with yet another three punctures. Two of which I didn't spot until the next morning after I'd fixed the first!
Did the Gap ride last summer and had to go down a road that a farmer had just been hedge-trimming down. By the end the person I was riding with (who had tubes) had punctured front and rear and I just needed to pull half a dozen thorns out of my tubeless tyre (didn't even need to add more air after). For the tiny extra amount of faff involved in inflating them it saves all the hassle of punctures out on the trail, it's a no-brainer for me.
