thought i'd share my first attempt at a bike build from second hand parts! Most of the bike came from the for sales on here, so thank you to everyone for the bargains!
full spec is:
steel voodoo wanga frame
Maxle RS revelation dual air forks (spacered down to 120mm)
bontrager rhythm wheels
Deore SLX brakes
Deore SLX drivetrain
specialized stem
raceface flat bar
DMR pedals
I managed to put together about 1/2 of it, but had to let my mate (who's opened an independent bike store in Stourbridge btw!) build the rest - gear setup, bottom bracket etc. But all in, including price to build was about £300. Pretty chuffed as i've wanted a hardtail for ages and couldn't really afford to buy unless i made more compromises than i was happy with. Only thing i really want to change is the bar - way to narrow at 520mm!
Nice.
Spruce it up with some low risers and red lock-on grips and job done.
It looks great, especially for what you paid. I would have to do something about the angle of those brake levers though!
yeah, set up is still very much as I got it back from my mate. Seat is about right now, and adjusted the stem ok, but brakes need new pads, and the bars just feel tiny!
