My daughter has an Orbea MX24 and at the time of purchase I could only get hold the suspension version. Obviously the suspension is useless and heavy. I would leave well love me to upgrade to disc brakes as she is improving quickly.
I'm thinking to the future as she is growing fast. Rather than trying to find 24" disc wheels and forks I am thinking 26" forks and front wheel with 24" out back, the front end can then be moved on to her next bike...
Anyone done this? I'm not sure how it will upset the geometry, the worst that happens is I try it and it doesn't work, then I hold on to the bits until she fits a 26" frame...
Thoughts?
I went for a reverse mullet on my wifes bike. Swapped the 29" at the back for a 26".

If you put a 26" fork on, could you put a shorter axel to crown one to minimise the changes?
You would make the head and seat angle slacker plus raise the bb.

Wheel size shouldn't alter seat height unless it's set from stand over, therefore too low.
Please check that the tyre doesn't contact the down tube at full compression. No-one likes a surprise trip to the dentist.
Is it the air Suntour fork? The one on my daughter’s MX24 was a great little fork. Really worked well and helped her speed, confidence and control on rougher tracks.

The smaller wheel lowered the bb.
My wife can move the saddle up by that amount and still touch the floor. The saddle height was set so she was confident she could put her feet down, not for correct leg extension.
She gets more power as she is closer to getting the saddle height correct for pedalling now.
