In preparation for a winter of commuting I bought a crud catcher recently. However, the gear cables on my commuter are both routed under the downtube. When I fitted the guard, obviously I put the elastic bands inside the cables, but the cables still rubbed against the bands.
The question is, is this really going to make any difference to my shifting with the extra friction involved or is it not worth worrying about?
