Hi
I'm off to Morzine for the first time this summer, along with my family. I'm taking my Scott Spark Plus, which should be sufficient for XC, greens and blues. Not planning on tackling anything serious.
My nearly 13-year old usually comes riding with me and has tackled Reds at Swinley and BPW. He currently rides an XS women's Saracen Mantra Trail bike (13" frame) with no problem. But I don't think a HT will suffice for Morzine (plus due to other factors, I'm not able to take his bike with us). He is about 149cm tall.
Unfortunately, it looks like my choices of XS bikes in Morzine are limited. I can either get a Norco Sight A7.3, which is roughly the same size as his Saracen, or a Norco Fluid 24 or a Commencal Supreme 24 (neither appear to be available in 26", which would probably be ideal).
So, should I stick with a size that I know fits him, but is on the large side, or go down a size to a bike which he is at the uppermost limit for?
cheers
Simon
Probably make the choice when you get there, have a wander around the shops and see which one fits better
Thanks
My concern is that if I don't book it now they won't have any in stock come August.
I’d take the Sight. Wheel size doesn’t make that much of a difference once you get used to it. To small / heavy will be more annoying in Morzine.
Have you tried getting in touch with The Woods? They don’t seem to have a website but had a decent Devinci demo fleet when I was out there last.
