I’m off on a family holiday for five days to the south west Windermere area and I’m wondering which bike to take. The village is Finsthwaite. It’s a family holiday so I’ll only be able to escape for a couple of hours at a time. I’m just wondering if I should take gravel bike or trail bike. What type of routes are there in that area? Any recommendations for shortish loops would also be gratefully received .

Plenty out there on the internet - and loads of the goods in grizedale begin in graythwate, which is 2 miles spin up a country road.
