Been thinking about joining a club in the area... Anyone on here in one in the Surrey area?

Was looking at West Drayton MBC... any recommendations?

West Drayton are good - regular rides, team entries at the big races and club nights down the pub!

Oi Murray, should'nt you be mowing the lawn or something instead of surfing the net?

Hi, I ride with this lot VCGH. Don't let the the roadie name put you off as we have an active MTB section. We do rides on a Sunday morning from Godalming and night rides during the week. If you need any more info than you can email me (email in profile) or just come along one Sunday morning for a ride.

Surrey's quite a big place, what part are you in?

If on the Surrey / Hants / Berks borders there's Berks on Bikes ( http://www.bobmbc.com) or Tunnel Hill Trolls ( http://tunnelhilltrolls.co.uk/) for a less clublike but still well organised groups - based in Crowthorne / Swinley and Camberley areas respectively

there's quite a few come down to BOB rides from SW London, it's easily accessible and the journey shouldn't take much more than 30-40 mins depending on how long it take you to get out of Kingston. I've ridden a few times with THT too and I think their catchment also goes that far as well, so lift sharing could be an easy option too.

Where BOB is also involved with the permit scheme at Swinley via association with the Gorrick people your annual membership gets includes the cost of the annual permit, but that's by a long way not the only area the club rides on, in fact I'd say that most weekend rides are pretty rare to ride in Swinley. there's tonnes of areas around that are 'at least equal'.

There's a Gorrick race at Tunnel Hill in a week's time I think (sunday); both BOB and THT are always well in attendance so come and meet a few, ride the area, see if you like us?

Oh yes - BOB are also a great local club! Regular weekend rides and weekday evening night rides too.

West Drayton was my old club, so I guess there's a bit of allegiance there...
