[Closed] Mountain bike Specific insurance for French alps trip Morzine

Hi all I am hoping for some real world recommendations for insurance for my trip in two weeks to Morzine, we are flying this time and I would like some insurance for myself should the worst happen and I need a helicopter off the mountain but also for my bike on the plane as it would cost me a lot of money to replace, it would only cost about £3,000 to replace but I believe that Easyjet will only cover £1100

I am not a claiming type so not looking for a company to rip off, just some adequate insurance to cover the trip

Thanks in advance

Insurance for you? Try DogTag

Insurance for your bike? Unsure. In fact, you've made me wonder whether my bike will be covered by the insurance I have when I take it to the alps later this month...

Maybe Cycling UK for bike insurance?

I've always used dogtag, but never needed to use them if you see what I mean, touch wood.

I use Bikmo for my bike in the UK / Overseas, inc crash damage, then insure myself. Dogtags / Snowcard / MPI all cover MTB. Watch out with standard insurance as they do not like MTB in conjunction with a ski lift / uplift.

Snowcard or Dogtag; my bike is insured around the world under awesome house insurance with PedalCover.

Thanks guys I was going to insure myself with Dogtag as they seem to do specific insurance for uplift downhill mountainbiking in the alps "Extreme"

I did feel a bit let down when they said they wouldn't cover my bike whilst it is with a third party IE the airline, so I feel their cover is very poor considering that it is very unlikely to be stolen whilst in my possession.
I will keep on the case as I leave in a week!!!

I've always used dog tag but have heard that they will no longer pay for private medical if there is a state hospital "nearby". Bit of a problem in the Alps. A mate had snowcard and did have to use them (complete with helicopter off the mountain). They were fantastic and I'll be using them in future.

Nobody does. You need to do that through either your house insurance or a specific bike policy.
Most bikes are nicked from garages in Morzine not the baggage handlers black market.
