Tried all kinds, Bombay Sapphire being very nice & Tanqueray also but my fave up to now is 'The Botanist', distilled on Islay in a gin still called 'Ugly Betty', in the Bruichladdich distillery.
Neat, with lots of ice. 8)

Blackwoods 60abv Gin (their regular is a 40abv)
Tanqueray 10
Millers Westbourne Strength (or might be the other one by Millers, can't remember, both very good, but one of them was particularly special)
tbh, any premium strength gin will be good and often better with good quality tonic/bitter lemon (fever Tree?). Bombay Sapphire is the best of the easy to buy gins IMO.

Hendricks Gin(cucumbers) and/or Saffron Gin(oranges) if you fancy something a bit different, but neither tickled my fancy tbh, but both def worth a trial.

Plymouth or Tanqueray for me.

I like my Martini dry.
I pour the gin. Then ask my wife to open the vermouth in another room.

Plymouth gin although hated it when living in Plymouth ( bad birthday memories in the distillery). That and gordons with a bit of tonic for me. Not tried with coke but will remedy that in a minute

Gordons (other London Dry will do in a pinch) with Orange Juice
Tanquaray 10 with Fentimans Tonic & NO lemon
Hendricks with Schweppes full fat indian tonic & a single thin slice of cucumber

Depending on the time of day & weather outdoors.

Not all Gin is 'Gin'. The recipe of Botanicals for london dry is quite different to other mixes.

Brecon Gin (from Penderyn) is the current choice for a nice afternoon G&T round ours. Bit like Bombay Sapphire, but, imho, a bit cleaner & a touch more citrus taste. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have been recommended blitzing up cucumber and freezing in ice-cube trays to put into a G&T, but haven't tried it yet.

^^^Yes, Gordons Imported Yellow label stuff is good (I think Tanqueray 10 is about the same strength 47%ish).

Never tried Penderyn Gin, their Whisky is very good apparently (not my thing tho).

Gin & coke never entered my head, but now I'm thinking, hmmm....Don't think I'll risk Islay gin with it just yet though!
Anyone else tried 'The Botanist', or am I on my own?

Watched a Three Men tv programme yesterday(Rhys-jones, McGrath, Dara O'Brien), they visited Caorunn Distillery. Not tried it, but interesting ingredients tho.

Tanqueray 10 is the drink of the gods!. A wee splash of bitter lemon for me.

A glaswegian once got me pissed on gin and irn bru. Surprisingly tasty! Gordons is good enough for that concoction though.
