I recently switched my campy ultra torque c/set for a power torque one (only 30 quid difference between full crank and getting replacement rings). I also installed new power torque bb cups. Trouble is, when I get out of the saddle and put down the power there is a terrible creaking noise.
Just wondered whether anyone out there can comment on what the most likely cause could be. Never had it with the ultra torque c/set

The PT are shite in my humble opinion. Never had a problem with UT but Pt drove me round the bend. I had a mate who put a few drops of oil down the seat tube every week or two to stop the creaks, I shit you not.
Ouch! The massive discount that was applied by Merlin Cycles should have got me thinking. Maybe I will just take the rings off the PT c/set and reinstall the UT one.
Make sure the bolt joining the two halves of the chain set is torqued up properly. Its a big old thing and needs to be tighter than you might think. The torque settings will be stamped on it.
