So I have about 14 days more holiday than my better half and I'm looking to do something she wouldn't want to do with the time.
Really like the look of the Roam Scotland Rally but I have never done a ride over such a distance and multiple days.
Is It trainable between now and then? I have an okay level of base fitness and am building up but it's a bit of an unknown.
Love the thought of getting out there and have picked up some bike packing stuff for doing https://thedistance.cc/ But this is much bigger ask.
Sounds interesting, plenty of time to build up a bit of endurance if needed.
Also signed up for the distance, I don't currently have an appropriate bike nor have I ever registered for any event. So plenty to sort out.
Yea I'm confident I'll be able to ride the daily distance, it's just doing it for 7 or so days that seems a bit daunting.
I suppose there are always bail-out options along the route.
In my mind everyone who usually enters these things are super human whippets so I would envisage a great majority of it being done on my lonesome.
Go for it. What's the worst that can happen? You turn up, ride a few days, decide its not for you and go home early.
True Trailwagger, I suppose the train back to Edinburgh and a knees up is always an option if I blow up on day one ๐
I might set-up a separate thread for some multi-day riding tips etc.
