Went on one of Ed's Alps prep days last week but wasn't sure how much I'd get out of it. I wanted to get better on technical terrain and I felt that much of the time my bike was a rock plough and I couldn't corner on rough terrain as well as I wanted. I'm not exactly a shabby rider but I leant to ride by trial and error with very little though given to how I rode the bike and what I did in particular circumstances.
I have to say I'm impressed with what he taught me and how he did it. All very relaxed, a good teacher and somehow can see exactly what you are doing wrong. Very good at breaking things down too. He has really changed the way I think about lines, the trail, body position and my approach to riding a bike and this has already paid dividends in conquering some of my local nemeses.
Short version: Ed will make you ride better. Fact.
So Ed, I salute you, and thanks.
