Hi folks,
bought myself a Moon meteor 200 to complement my four4th front light creating a spot in front of me for seeing potholes etc on our wonderfully maintained roads.
got it home, plugged in in for it a first charge and it flashed blue to say it was charging and then went steady blue when charged after a few hours.
when operating the charge indicator is blue for 60-100%, green for 60-20% and red for below 20%.
When I switched it on it was blue for 5 mins at most then went straight to flashing red. Thought I'd maybe had a duff usb lead so charged it for 10hrs at work only for it to go from blue to green to red within 10 mins on highest beam.
I take it my light is a duff one and I should take it back!!
Cheers.

Have you actually left it on to see how long it takes to die? It could be that the battery is fine, but whatever is in the unit that controls the indicator colour could be faulty (unless this is directly controlled by the battery voltage).

I'd leave it on to see whether you get the prescribed run times out of it, which might give you a better clue if it's the light or the unit. Then, either way get it back to the shop for a replacement. Even if the battery is OK, you want the indicator to give you some idea of what state the battery is in.

FWIW, my mate has got one of these meteor 200 lights and the indicator on his works as prescribed, so something is definitely amiss.

Hi stumpy,
it stayed on high for a good 30-40 mins whilst flashing red so I think it's the battery level sensor that is at fault. Pain in the bum not having a clue what level of charge I had though!
Thanks.
