Buckden woods is ace
That is a matter of opinion. Your opinion is wrong.
Is this another circular route? Can I leave my lock at the pub, or should I leave it at Tod station?
How tough will this be? I pulled a muscle a couple of weeks ago and haven't ridden since so probably going to slow everyone down (Bear in mind I probably would have anyway.)
Quite tempted to jump in the car and come along
I'll be there. 🙂
Running late, still trying but might not make it in time. Struggle on without me if I don't...
Is this another circular route?
I hope so. I'm not going to cycle for 2 hours in a straight line away from the car.
Yes. All rides return to the pub 🙂
Chipps (for an ill Clover...)
I'm pootling up the hill.... There's some sort of LWB waymarker... I must be on the right track 😉
You lot and your cars! I left it at the station!
Missed the train, definitely out. Might see you on the hills though. I'll be the one wheezing etc.etc.etc.
Just FYI definitely won't be there. Hope to be more organised and make it next week though
Top stuff!
A little bit battered and bruised though. I'm not saying that I flew a long way in the shunt near then end... but it showed up on my Strava trace.
Zoom in about 100m from the finish 😀

It was a good stack - and at least it had a witness. I'd put it as a 'wrong-rutted and sliding but i-can-get-it-back to full-on out the front door' and into a hole... Gracefully done!
Nice to see everyone out. Hope the social pace wasn't too taxing for the Strava speed demons. 😉
That was ace fun, thanks Chipps for guiding and everyone else for the good company, I had a smashing time. (Tom, beardy git on the green Cotic Soul.) 😀
Quality stack Harry! Though it confused me a bit. Getting down the last descent, in sight of the pub, seeing a bike lying on the trail, but no rider. I presumed it'd been abandoned in the rush for the holy grail of a cold pint. Then the swamp thing emerged from the ditch. Some considerable distance away. Well... Actually... Hauled out by Chipps! Good effort! 🙂
Great ride tonight though! Cheers Chipps!
Yeah cheers for the route chipps. Good fun that and that last descent definitely provided a few buttock clenching moments with that drop on the right.
Hope the social pace wasn't too taxing for the Strava speed demons.
😳
I coped...just.
These early Tuesday starts aren't very conducive to the late Monday evenings 😕
if i didnt work away id have had this - can someone describe the route you took?
had on, im confused. i thought you were talking about the H&H, bull hill & bucky woods etc? (just looked at the strava thing)
H&H, bull hill & bucky woods etc?
That's next week.
early starts
I just set off for work, but I was home at 1230 and eating reheated curry at 1:45!
Great ride, though my knee is now going blue and I need to order me some brake pads.
Got to bed at 1.15.
Up at 5.10 😯
...mate...
I find post night rides, wired, with no chance of sleep, to be the perfect time to catch up on [s]porn[/s] whatever I've recorded during the last week. The stuff that would get the eye-rolling, tutting, stern look, or flat-out refusal if tentatively suggested for an evenings communal viewing
So I watched the Armstrong Lie, then weird BBC4 cycling documentary Velorama last night. With a couple of ales. Sod getting up at 5. I don't know. You lot and your proper jobs? 😀
I was in bed by 11:45 and up at 5:40, with a wake up at 4:00 when me daughter went for a wee and shouted the house down because she couldn't get a balloon to stay on the top of the lift tower on her toy garage.
Aaaah... the old balloon and lift tower conundrum? To be fair to her, its baffled some of the worlds greatest thinkers
The balloon will stay there now. 👿
Hope the social pace wasn't too taxing for the Strava speed demons
Hmmm yes, got a bit carried away last night. Probably why I ended up in a ditch 🙂
Brilliant route though. Nowt like a bit of exposed, high consequence techy-ness in the dark to focus the mind!
<Update on the results of my "flying lesson">
Moving my head to the left is causing a noise that sounds like snapping carrots.
Will I die?
Dunno, - ask a doctor!
What would Jensie do? I'm not hanging about in a waiting room full of sick people coughing at me.
I'll be reet.
Holcombe Hill next week. Dead flat. Dead slow. Oh... hang on.
What would Jensie do?
Obviously he'd shout 'Shut up neck!'.
This is getting frustrating! Managed to get a lift sorted for the mrs so that I could come out and play - then we had an emergency at work and I had to stay on site until about 9.
Gutted!
