Fair point; just speaking personally as I only work in that direction but live in Leeds. I get kicked out of the office at 6!

Does anyone ever ride from the royal in tockholes? The woods over the road are quite cool.

Is that an invite? The whole point of Monday night rides is for everyone to show a bunch of idiots around their favourite local trails. All that's required is a good pub to finish at. Fancy giving us the tour de to Tockholes for the next one fella?

Come on binners.

Course we've done the Royal at tockholes. Who can forget Mr Sparkle sorting out the chip barms! The ride was alright too!

12 minutes to get up then back down!?

It takes me longer to skid down from the top!

I was contemplating organising a ride that would take in the woods etc around Roddlesworth. It would probably start and end at the Hare and Hounds at Abbey Village rather than at the Royal although i appreciate that the royal would be a better pub.

I think i will leave it though for dark nights when there wont be many walkers about...

The Royal doesnt open on a Monday night - they did it as a favour to Mr Sparkle. We would probably use the Hare & Hounds at Abbey Village instead but i would also have to check that they are open...

Putting it in the diary for 11th seems a good idea though.

he does seem to have a very good rapport with a multitude of licensed victuallers doesn't he?

🙂

keeping an eye on this one, but won't be so daft as to suggest that I'll actually be there.

I should just clarify - the 'ride' is not intending to go up San Marino, I was proposing that I get there early and do a quick uppy downy of San Marino then to the Bull for 8:15

My Mrs' nail appointment that I cut short friday's ride for was cancelled last minute and moved to tonight, so instead of riding with you guys in the sunshine tonight I'll be out with junkyard in the rain tomorrow.

Went from cast to removable splint today, but probably a bit too early for a return.

The last time I was at the Bull (when I came off, and thought it could be healed with a pint), the landlord gave my mate 4 or 5 Agatha Christie books after he spotted her perusing the bookshelf - top bloke!

For those worried about San Marino, it's absolutely fine - it's the pesky section after the style you need to worry about. By that point you're head is already in the pub, just before your face is in the floor....

I though that your issue was to do with it being dark and your lights were in your bag. 😉

Cracking run, as per. You can't go far wrong where the San Marino is involved. Not ridden it in the dark for a while. Which led to some... ahem... Interesting line choices

It was a bit mechanicaltastic but, as Mother Teresa used to frequently say, "shit happens".

Watching the lights out from the top of Winter Hill with 3 generations of a family and Pink Floyd on the car stereo was different.

I'm sneaking back tonight without lights as it did seem to be a hotbed of car based teen shagging.

At least theres the joy of taking in another Northern Sky, while contemplating punctures, snapped chains, and people getting lost....
