Halfway up to Gorple road and our evening of swing has been well and truly cancelled.
Abandoned for a couple of soggy 'can't get any wetter' goes of Hurstwood.

Glad we got off the tops once the lightning started to really get going, bit close for comfort in places.

Jesus, that was fun.
😀

Front mudguard & gut fender went back on today, as did a tyre more suitable for mud

Was like an otter's pocket on my ride this morning. Gnarmac, but no mudguards fitted yet.

Moist.

Sitting home now, glad I didn't extend today's ride any further and get caught out in that. Had a nice fry-up at Inglesport cafe instead and a lift home with the missus and nippers. 😀

Not too bad here in the SE today, but did rain for a couple of hours.

The weather forecast for tomorrow on the other hand is currently saying 36.2mm rain for us 😯

Timed to perfection! Out for a few hours and got down off the tops, into the pub, ordered a pint, and looked out the window to see a deluge of truly biblical proportions coming down. Result!! 😀

I was out at 07:30 to try & avoid the rain predicted later in the day. I failed. I got well and truely drenched in a downpour. Warm & wet is better than cold and wet though!

My summer of dust, has i fear, gone. Yesterdays rain put a stop to that. I'm so used to the dry dusty, grip festooned trails that i felt like i was riding on ice over all the roots and rock today.

New tyres needed.

Plus to add further insult we seem to have no newspaper with which i can dry out my dripping shoes!

Dry ride this morning on the Ridgeway. Tomorrow's commute in looks interesting though. Only 5miles on the short route so I'll just stick on a kitesurfing .5mm neoprene vest and settle for warm and wet.

beautiful sunshine all day, been for a pint in the beer garden and done some gardening for my folks. Time for a day off the bike after 5 straight on it.

It was bucketing it down out in the White Peak and I had not timed it to perfection. Mudguards made no difference at all, I wouldn't have been wetter if I jumped in a river.

Three dusty laps of Hicks Lodge this morning with the family.

Bit of drizzle this afternoon. Boring but happy in East Midlands!

Sunny but windy until about an hour after we got back from a 100k road ride.

Bucketing it down now though.

24C here today. I was glad of the breeze floating down off the Moine Mhor when I stopped for a break. I was out in search of a couple of photos for Scotways but the heat haze was mostly ruining it.

Riding in the rain in summer temperatures is fine, don't you think? Bike Park Wales this morning, completely wet through after first climb and descent, waterproof socks full of water , nciely warmed up to room temp, no problem; rode happily for the next couple of hours (did stop raining, though). In fact, next time may not bother with a jacket (
too warm on the climb).

Back an hour after 5 hours on road fun when the wet came down. There was coffee, scone and beer on the ride (well shandy).

Wettest ride ever this afternoon, absolutely drenched after less tgan 5 minutes of torrential rain at cannock.

Blasting through the massive puddles in the pissing rain was the best bit of the ride, but **** me those pebbles are deadly when its a bit greasy before its proper wet.

After 2 solid days in the south downs on the roadie in 30+C it was a welcome change for this morning, mildly moist I'd call it. Torrential ricochet bounce blob fest from 8 through 1130.. I had planned another roadie hill climb sprint session this morning but decided against that and grabbed the CX'er, some old CX'er riding gear and headed out in it..

Bloody great, soaked, muddy, gritty, grindy, sprint, slippy, sodden.

Jet wash then home just in time for the sun to come out again and turn all those frowns upside down.. 😆

I'm sure I saw a man measuring out cubits and gathering up 2 of every animal as we bailed at the far point of our planned ride. 🙄

Looking down the barrel of the second week of our 'staycation' and my garden is under 5cm of rain water. Was hoping to get up the woods this week, but it's trail centre weather all right!

Topped up the tan on a road ride down to the Borders but got beat up by the wind. It was beautiful down there.

You experienced the 360degree headwind too then did you?
