[s]Midlife Crisis[/s]BMX Night next week and we’re fully booked. However, if you want to come along and watch, take pictures, talk sh1t, whatever… you are more than welcome. Not sure how interesting it will be though.

Church Inn Prestwich after. Obviously.

We’ll try and reschedule the washed out 21st November ride for December 5th.

Good do last night.
2 questions.

1) Is the guy who had the “big off” OK?
2) Who was it on the jump bike?

Next week back to riding big bikes in the cold. I’ll post up a thread on Thursday.

Was indeed excellent.

Yeah, he's cool, nothing broken but not heard from him this morning.

I binned it at the start of the night and am feeling it now.

I think the dude on the jump bike was Shanaze Reade cunningly disguise as a middles aged bloke, very convincing it was to.

He's fine. He ended up in A&E but nothing broken. Sprained his back apparently. I wasn't aware you could sprain your back, but it sounds painful all the same.

I feel that a dangerous precedent is being set by allowing people who can actually ride rather well to turn up for Monday Night Pub Rides. This needs nipping in the bud, and the normal service of fat blokes wobbling about the place needs to be maintained.

Anyway... we got there in the end. Hospital, that is....

Thanks for the concern, I'll live. Got out of a+e about 2am, nothing broken but like Daz says, apparently I've a badly sprained back - who knew! I feel like I've been hit by a bus, made of concrete, but codeine's my best friend at the moment!
Anyone want to buy a full face helmet, only worn once!

Ooof. Take it easy, hope you heal up quickly. You've definitely set the bar higher for MNPR BMX antics.

I've not had chance to look at the video footage but will try to get something edited together and posted up here in the next day or two.

Cheers everyone for coming! 😀

Good stuff. Nice to hear that you aren't dead.

I had a little moment too and would like to take the opportunity to thank the designer at Endura who thought it would be a good idea to have that hard plastic clip thing on the left hip of the Hummvee shorts. I now have one de-bossed into the top of my leg as a permanent reminder of exactly how fanatically fantastic it is.

The show-off was my mate Andy Lawton. The sod's got absolutely no fear and far too much mad skillz on any kind of two wheels...

e.g. this is him on his MX (No. 74), he got 5th in the Acerbis 125cc Amateur National Series this year....

I went out of the gate just behind him, and followed him round for a lap as he effortlessly lofted massive air over all the doubles, and thought "how the **** is he actually doing that?!". When he got round he didn't look like he'd even broken a sweat 😯

Glad you've not done too much damage dienamic. if its any consolation it looked pretty spectacular.

Almost as good as Harry the Spiders previous best effort....

It was way better than mine. I didn't sprain anything, but I did have a red marks all over my face that matched the stitching pattern of the helmet liner for the next week or so.

Weird isn't it? Some of those ramps are a couple of metres tall. It's easier to jump (a little bit) on a smaller track IMHO.

Looks a lot slower than it feels eh?!

Nice bit of camerawork at the end 'Port is in our blood' 🙂

Glad someone spotted my daft joke. 😀

It was really good to watch Andy actually clearing the big doubles - but you can see just how bloody fast he has to go to do it. Even with a full-speed run up from the very top of the first berm he was still coming up short oaccasionally. And that's on the "small" jumps! The skill that must be necessary to hit the pro-line is mind-boggling.
