My one and only bike is currently in the bike shop undergoing major surgery and there’s no guarantee it’s going to recover
I have a bike packing trip planned with a buddy to do King Alfreds Way in two weeks,
Looking at possibly hiring a bike for that weekend to save me having to say “sorry dude, can’t come, your on your own”
But from where? I’m based in Essex and looking for a KAW suitable steed
Can anyone recommend anywhere that might have something that won’t crumble half way round?!
How long are you planning to take to do it?
Over a weekend maybe ask the LBS if you hire a demo bike for a couple of days? Do they have demo bikes?
If you are going to make a week of it maybe buy something off ebay and then sell it on when you get back, depreciation Will probably be less than a hire charge and you should have a wider choice of bike
@andrewh good idea that, I was looking at demo bikes to hire for a weekend also as an option. The trip is going to be a Friday to Sunday jobby, no luck with LBS, looking eBay too but with just two days between my next pay day and the day we plan to leave I feel it’d be cutting it a little to fine

But with SRAM Guide and 10speed setup on it... tyres have never actually been outdoors, then again, the bike has never been outdoors either. I only use it on Zwift. I bought in April ish.
