Has anyone got any experience of this app. I have loads of wholly legit .qct files for V5. I think I somehow need to copy them onto my SD card for the app to be able to use them. The problem I'm having is that whilst I definately have the app on my phone (Xperia T) I cannot see where the apps folders and files are stored so I am unable to copy stuff over from my PC.
Any suggestions?
I don't, but if you don't get it sorted I've been using MM Tracker very successfully.
+1 for mmtracker. You should be able to get a working copy here: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/psa-for-memory-map-and-android-users
I've not used Memorymap, but Aplinequest will read qtc maps.

Another for mmtracker. No issues with older style maps or the old 1:25k that memory map aren't theirs... It just displays everything
MMtracker is great, much better than the official app.
Shame memory map shut them down.
My Android update has killed MM tracker- I agree it was a great app.
I can't remember the details, but there was a way to get mm tracker working after the android update. Worth a google.
...or clicking on the link I posted. Working fine on android 4.4.3
Here it is again to save scrolling up: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/psa-for-memory-map-and-android-users
As above, there was a fixed version of mmtracker to work with current android versions.
Another vote for Alpine Quest. Been using it (full version) for best part of a year. Have most of Wales at 1:25K (memory map V5 qct files) and all of UK at 1:50 on my SD card. I regularly upload gpx routes to follow in the mountains and always use it to record my rides and save them as gpx files to upload into strava when I get home. Has been 100% reliable and I have not lost a ride yet (unlike when I used to use Strava as a standalone app).
Highly recommended. Best fiver I spent on an app (though the free version works OK too, it soon becomes a PITA)
Using mmtracker on 4.4.2 here, there's an updated apk on the android developers forums.
Yayyy!!!!
Does MM Tracker need a qct file to provide the actual OS map (tiles)? Can I only get this from using Memory Maps, i.e I have to buy an area and move the file onto the SD card? If so, I thought MM Tracker only worked with older (pre-2013?) qct files?
FTR, I installed MM Tracker last night, set up the folders and all I need is the tiling.

I'm running MMTracker and really like it but I'm struggling to get it to open any gpx files that I've created or downloaded. any suggestions?
Have you created and allocated the appropriate folders for routes, tracks, etc?
yep, sometimes the app can see the gpx and will let me select it but then nothing happens.
Sometimes moving the file from the route folder to the track folder, or vice versa, has worked for me.
I copied the same file into all the folder to get it to work. I'll try downloading some different gpx files and see how that goes.
I find MMTracker a little picky about GPX files from elsewhere. The easiest in-phone solution I've found is to open the GPX in Orux Maps and then re-export it. It seems to clean the file up enough to make it work in MMTracker.
Stick the files on a folder in your sd card. Browse the card with a file manager on your phone and select the map file. The phone will ask what opens it and you choose memory map and 'always'...then that is it!
Browsing to stuff doesn't work
Not had chance to have a play with other gpx files
I use Memory Map on my phone with the older 2004 maps. There isn't any problem using the older maps, but I couldn't get the V5 Maps to work without paying for a licence.
I put the maps on the phone in the download file then into the Memory Map file. You need to get the phone to check for other map types.
What do you mean doesn't work? The phone won't browse? If not, get a file manager from the Store...
by not work I mean that some of the gpx files show up through mmtracker, some don't, regardless what folder I put them in. Even if the file shows when I select it nothing shows.
Still not got round to checking with other gpx files as in the middle of swapping phones... I might just try that now.
Presumably no one has had problems running this on Cyanogenmod's version of kitkat?
UPDATE...
just downloaded a new gpx, saved to Routes, opened the app, selected overlay, selected routes, opened Load route, clicked on the gpx & nothing shows in the hide / del / view / props / navi window
did the same thing but selected overlay then tracks & browsed to the gpx in the routes folder & now it all works.
I'd always assumed that tracks were things the app recorded and routes were things you uploaded to it. Dunno if I've been doing it wrong or if I found a bug but this seems like an acceptable work around.
Just need to work out the navigate to option and I'm sorted
My MMtracker is picky about routes, just cant load them then sometimes you can.
You might need the latest MM tracker from here;

thanks, when the jazzed up phone comes back I'll make sure I'm on the latest version of the app
