looking at getting some better winter tyres for the daughters bike, do any islabike owners know what width tyre I can get away with on the Beinn 20?
Im leaning towards getting the Conti Explorer 20 x 1.75, currently running Kenda 1.3 small block eights.
I put 20x1.5" Marathons on ours and even with mudguards there was still plenty of room.
Also had some Schwalbe Mad Mike 20x1.75" (linky) for a while, which worked well offroad.
The explorers are great. That's what we've got on my boy's Beinn 20.
Thanks for the replies. She did her 1st off road ride over the weeekend and the stock tyres struggled in the mud. Made it a bit twitchy for her.
Yeah, standard tyres are ok for summer fireroad but contis are obviously much better.
The conti explorers are available as an option from islabikes for the beinn20. Cheaper from wiggle tho.
Nice one, cheers for that paladin, just bought 2.
