My mate has recently started a bearing supply shop up. He says decent quality bearings at decent prices. Simple website. Worth a look. Dont shoot the messenger ๐Ÿ˜‰

Doesnt specify the make or quality of the bearings. Having had experience of cheap bearings fail due ineffective sealing in the past, im in no hurry to repeat the faff and hassle.
Name brand bearings like FAG, SKF etc are essential IMHO.

He should be at least as good as simplybearings - my current supplier

Could you encourage him to build up a library of bearing sizes for each application. eg: I've got a Salsa Spearfish, what do i need for a full suspension rebuild?

I'm sure as his first orders come in if he asks customers what they're going to be used for he can get a lot of info quickly without having to research it all himself.

Are these bearing "off the shelf" spec or does he order them with a greater grease fill and a more water resistant grease?

To be fair to Katec, his posh bearings make SKF ones feel rubbish

As someone said on here, "Kasae is a nutter, but he's our nutter... "

Her really went the extra mile to solve a problem with our bikes. Found him very easy to deal with.

MB Bearings in Haslingden have decent bearings and help you select the right ones for your make of frame or wheels.

http://stores.ebay.com/KaTec-Bikes

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/KaTec-Bikes surely?

From the About Us section:

" Like most people I have a lot of idiots who think they can take the piss or advantage of my good nature, those types I'm not interested in helping and avoid like the plague!

I don't really feel like I fit into our modern culture so avoid contact with it, seems to me there isn't really any point to our way of life, a way of life that asks for so very much but give so little back in return, so I give myself some sense of purpose and worth by supporting other riders and promoting our way of life."

Excellent mission statement. Hope he has that on a plaque somewhere ๐Ÿ˜€

I don't really feel like I fit into our modern culture so avoid contact with it,

this was posted in the internet right on a voluntary about me page on Ebay?

Practically hermitic behaviour ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not even close

IIRC you have some expertise in changing identity ๐Ÿ˜›

Gonna be difficult to persuade me away from Kaetec to be honest. His decent bearings on my frame have lasted more than twice as long as the original so far and mates who have used them are equally pleased. Both with service and quality.
