I have a pair of marzocchi 44 rc3 ti, had them about 5 months now and pushing on them in the car park there is a lump load of stiction. Out on the trail i don't notice it much.
After hearing all about the fantastic small bump compliancy of marz forks, should they feel like that off the trail?
Is it easy to give em a quick service and get them feeling smooth?
Would it be anything to do with the bushings?

I get the feeling I sound like I know nothing here...

Out on the trail i don't notice it much.

So is there a problem...?

Servicing them is a straightforward affair, but not strictly recommended. Plenty of helpful fork servicers out there who'll spruce 'em up.

Ha ha don't worry I realise your point hence me not doing anything about it for a good month or two. It's just something that crosses my mind before a ride and thought I'd just check it out.
Serviced several rockshox forks with the helpful manuals and instructions but doing the same for marzocchi forks is another matter. want to avoid spending the wad on sprucing them up if i can do it myself

dude - my manitou shermans have zero stiction, and are super super plush

my fox vanillas have car park stiction but the issue drops soon as I saddle up.

banana world is right, it's the trail performance you need to think about...

IME trail performance is somewhat affected by car park stiction.

Call Windwave?

I have 44 Micro Ti's and they have the same feeling.

On them it's down to a top hat bump stop on the Ti spring catching on the fork leg inner at the start of the stroke, the solution is to cut the top hat down a bit to allow more clearance.

Don't know if it's the same on RC3's mind

For 2010 Marzocchi started to fit a ‘foam’ ring between the dust an oil seal, on early production these were assembled dry - these rings need to be wet or just removed to unleash the true performance of this model...!

I would suggest trying to pop the dust seal up and wet the ring with some fork oil, or alternatively you can cut them out. To get the dust seal up use a small flat bladed screwdriver in the indents at the back of the forks lower legs – be very careful not to slip as you could slip and scratch the stanchions.

The rings work really nice on air forks, but you can definitely notice the improved fluidity on a coil fork as well.

I've soaked mine in fork oil but unsure of the benefits yet. May just remove them...

another update after a ride - a great change to the fork. If you've got 2010 marz forks and are unsure, check this out. super smooth now.

I've been trying to pop the seals up on my 44s but have only succeeded in damaging the rubber - the seals won't budge. How did you do it?

fox suggest wrapping a flat screwdriver blade in tape to use to prevent it damaging the seal, lower or stanchion.

Might as well. Can't do any harm.

Think I might be sending mine there too seeing as Loco haven't bothered to reply to my message/email from last week about booking a service.
