Are they agricultural at all? The niggle on my Z1 RC2's were that they felt quite agricultural. From reviews etc the 55's are supposed to be up there with Fox's? (If not reliability-wise).
New, are they worth getting? I was thinking of some 2008's. Of course they would need to be new so I've got the warranty to replace the internals when they do go ๐
I had AM1 SL's (what 55's replaced) and they were great when they worked. Not sure why your z1 rc2's would be 'agricultural' though. Have you given them a service? Just an oil change should be enough, and put some oil round the seals too.
i'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'agricultural' mark, but my 55 ATA2s on the norco are fantastic. really plush and smooth; i'm just waiting for the day when they break but 3 year warranty means i'm not that worried about that.
they felt great on a couple of the loose rocky descents around marple with the nbts yesterday.
I thought you were never going to have Marz forks again after what happened last time?
Argricultural- simplistic. Abit wooden, not plush and sometimes kick back. Basically feel like forks of yesteryears technology
I have some TST2s on my Stiffee and they have been great so far
ATA2s I have (2008 but now with 2009 internals after first warranty issue) feel lovely, now that I figured out correct pressures. Certainly if you can get a new set at a bargain price then go for it.
Not sure I'd ever recommend these to anyone given my reliability issues, but they do feel very nice.
a11y I was thinking of a few local rides, they fail. Send them back- new 09 internals and waheyyy spot on forks! Any distance/rides further away I'll use the Pikes ๐
Post new 09 internals- how do they fair interms of performance against the likes of Fox/Rock shox's etc?
I've been told the 2009 internals are back on track, as far as Marzocchi reliability goes (but then Windwave would say that!), but I've only ridden my forks once since getting them back. Feel same as before. But even when mine broke (half-way round Innerleithen XC) it wasn't a disaster - they just compressed down to about 60mm travel, making for a very interesting head angle...
I've not ridden any similar forks by Fox/RS so not really able to comment on comparisons.
